about

A peek into the mind of a man in pursuit of (then a lamentation on) the most alternative of lifestyles...vampirism. Inspired by the 1971 cult film "Vampyros Lesbos" directed by Jesus Franco

lyrics

I think that I'll go
to someplace in France
sign up for a class
and learn how to dance
I'll wander around
dusty back roads
round up some freaks
and start my own show

And this all began,
with a jade statuette
that was formed as a man,
but slumped like a marionette
Drained me of all of my fluids
right down to my sweat
its funny how easy you're caught like a fish in a net

Well I'd buy a big tent
burn candles in there
and when people come by
I'd read from Baudelaire
(muttering half remembered phrases from aforementioned poet)

And this all began,
with a jade statuette
that was formed as a man,
but slumped like a marionette
Drained me of all of my fluids
right down to my sweat
its funny how easy you're caught like a fish in a net

I look and my life
and hardly remember a thing
but I write all my thoughts
in a book bound with bright metal rings
I'm marking my place with bits of red ribbon and string
I always have pens
but never remember the ink

Oh and this all began with a jade statuette
who was formed as a man,
but died like a marionette
hacked up to pieces and burned
that was all I could get
its funny how easy you're caught like a fish in a net

and i just remember that this is as good as it gets
